Who may borrow from Maine Info Net?
Colby, Bates and Bowdoin students, faculty, and staff may request materials directly from the libraries participating in the central Maine Info Net catalog.
What kinds of materials can I request?
Items listed as available may be requested, although some materials may only be available within the CBB consortium.
The table below identifies some of these:
| Type of Material | Location of Holdings |
|---|---|
| Books | Any Maine Info Net library |
| Government Documents | Any Maine Info Net library |
| Audio books | CBB libraries |
| Videos | CBB libraries |
| Multimedia kits | CBB libraries |
| Music recordings (faculty only) | CBB libraries |
| Journal articles | Request through Interlibrary Loan |
How do I decide from which library to borrow?
The system takes care of a lot of this for you, selecting CBB libraries first for titles that have multiple holders. If there is no CBB holder, the loan will come from a university campus library or public library.
Some titles have multiple records reflecting slight differences in cataloging. It is to your advantage to select a record with Colby, Bates or Bowdoin holdings attached if possible, since the loan and renewal times are usually longer and delivery is faster.
